Summary, etc. "This book provides a conceptualisation of bilingual (French-English) and multicultural education. Its main purposes are to synthesise recent responses to bilingual and multicultural education; to identify the issues arising out of the schools' responses to these new challenges; and to examine future directions for educational policy. Most existing works focus largely on either bilingual or multicultural education but rarely attempt to fully develop both topics simultaneously. This book is thus intended to provide a distinctly broader conceptual contribution to the field than normally exist in one volume. All of the chapters in the book are developed from a broad research framework and have solid international appeal.
