"... There are two workbooks in the present series: Book 1 and Book 2. Together, they cover adequately the basis of French grammar. Book 1 is for the elementary and intermediate student. Book 2 is for the intermediate and advanced student. The authors have made an effort to maintain the vocabulary of Workbook 1 within the scope of the 1500 basic words of oral French according to L'Enquête du Français Fondamental. Workbook 2 contains only a few words that are not included in the list of 3000 basic French words as established by the same survey.
French morphology is given systematic treatment in both workbooks and the syntactic content of the workbook implies that the basic and more complex noun phrases and verb phrases are given full attention." (Preface)
